MENTOR MINUTE
The old rules don't apply anymore

"The world's first trillionaire could be just one guy in a basement who's great at using AI"

— Mark Cuban, Owner of the Dallas Mavericks & Investor

Mark Cuban recently made a prediction that's turning heads across the business world.

The billionaire investor told an audience at a recent conference that the world's first trillionaire might not be some fancy MBA graduate or Silicon Valley hotshot with unlimited funding. It could be someone working from their basement who just happens to be really good at using AI.

That's a bold prediction, but here's the thing: he might be onto something.

The playing field just got leveled in a way we've never seen before. You don't need a massive team anymore. You don't need millions in funding. You don't even need an office with one of those overpriced espresso machines that nobody knows how to use properly. All you need is a laptop, an internet connection, and the ability to use AI tools better than the next person.

This is wild because it means the old rules don't apply anymore. The person who wins isn't necessarily the one with the most resources or the biggest network. It's the person who can leverage technology to do in one hour what used to take a whole team a week.

Think about what that means for you right now. While big companies are still figuring out how to have meetings about their AI strategy, someone working alone could be building the next billion dollar idea. The gap between having an idea and executing it has never been smaller.

The question isn't whether this will happen. Cuban's probably right. The question is whether you're going to be the person in that basement or the person wondering what happened.

How to Practice Case Interviews with Feedback Using Claude

  • Upload your case study so Claude can extract all the key data. (Enable "Extended Thinking" for deeper analysis.)

  • Tell Claude your goal and ask it to build a spreadsheet model with formulas and core frameworks.

Sample Prompt: I'm practicing for consulting interviews. Set up this practice scenario for me using the case I've uploaded: extract the data into a spreadsheet model with formulas and frameworks. Then, tell me what questions I should focus on. After I finish my analysis and write my recommendation, I'll share it for feedback. Review it like a senior partner would: check my numbers, evaluate my logic, and tell me specifically what needs improvement.

  • Let Claude generate your practice guide: key questions, required analyses, and what to focus on.

  • Once done, ask follow-up questions to refine your approach, compare alternative solutions, explore specific frameworks, or request a more detailed review of your work.
