Mentor Wisdom: "Don't confuse schooling with education. I didn't go to Harvard but the people that work for me did." - Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX
Mentor Lesson: Your degree won't make you rich
No degree will teach you how to build wealth.
Universities pump out thousands of graduates every single year.
They've got the credentials, the fancy letters after their names, and probably some serious student debt to match. Yet most of them end up working FOR someone instead of building their own thing.
Why? Because schools teach you how to follow instructions really well. How to show up on time. How to please the teacher. How to memorize stuff for a test and then forget it two weeks later. These are valuable skills, but they're employee skills, not entrepreneur skills.
The real education happens when you're in the trenches.
When you're figuring out how to get your first customer. When you're trying to solve a problem nobody's solved before. When you're learning from people who've actually done what you want to do.
That's the stuff that separates the people who build empires from the people who just work in them. And no university on the planet can teach you that in a lecture hall.
The smartest entrepreneurs know this secret. They seek out mentors who've actually built empires. Not theory from someone who read about it in a book.
